How to run Card Sort, step by step
- Prepare a deck of cards with relevant words or images (10 minutes). Ensure the content is easily understandable and tailored to your research objectives.
- Introduce the activity and explain the sorting task (2 minutes). Clearly state the criteria for sorting (e.g., importance, relevance, preference).
- Have participants sort the cards individually or in small groups (15 minutes). Encourage them to discuss their reasoning as they sort.
- Debrief and discuss the results (3 minutes). Identify common themes and insights from the card sorting activity.
