Post-it Prophecies

Post-it Prophecies is a creative icebreaker where participants receive small, inspirational messages or prompts. It's effective for injecting positivity and sparking lighthearted conversation at the start of a session.

When to use Post-it Prophecies

Use this method at the beginning of a workshop or meeting to create a positive and engaging atmosphere, encouraging participants to connect with each other and the session's themes.

What it solves

Low energy at the start of a session, lack of initial engagement, need for a quick and positive connection activity.

How to run Post-it Prophecies, step by step

  1. Prepare prophecies. Write inspirational quotes, thought-provoking questions, or fun facts on small strips of paper. (30 minutes before session)
  2. Fold the prophecies. Fold each strip of paper into a small parcel or origami shape. (15 minutes before session)
  3. Distribute prophecies. Place a folded prophecy on each participant's seat or invite them to collect one upon arrival. (5 minutes)
  4. Individual reflection. Instruct participants to open and read their prophecy silently. (2 minutes)
  5. Group sharing (optional). Invite participants to share their prophecies with the group or in pairs, discussing how it resonates with them or their work. (5-10 minutes)
