We Connect Cards is a conversation-starter activity designed to foster meaningful connections within a group. By using thoughtfully crafted questions, it helps participants engage in genuine conversations, breaking down barriers and promoting a sense of community.
When to use We Connect Cards
Use this method at the beginning of a workshop, training session, or team meeting to help participants get to know each other better and build rapport in a relaxed and engaging way.

How to run We Connect Cards, step by step
- Distribute one We Connect Card to each participant. (2 minutes)
- Instruct participants to find someone with a matching card color to form a pair. (3 minutes)
- In pairs, have each person ask the question on their card and allow their partner to respond. Encourage thoughtful answers. (5 minutes)
- After both partners have shared, instruct them to swap cards and find a new partner. (2 minutes)
- Repeat the process for the remaining time, encouraging participants to connect with as many different people as possible. (3 minutes)

Facilitator tips
- Emphasize that participants have the freedom to answer questions in a way that feels comfortable for them.

Common pitfalls
