Metodic vs ChatGPT

Most facilitators have tried it: paste the goal into ChatGPT, get an agenda in ten seconds. It is a good first draft. Then the work starts: the agenda holds five hours of content for a two-hour slot, the activities are lectures dressed as exercises, and the worksheets still have to be built by hand. Metodic takes the same brief and does that second half.

Metodic: from brief to runnable session

  • Timing that adds up: every activity gets a start time and a duration that fits the slot
  • Methods from a documented library of 700+, with steps and facilitator tips, so no invented techniques
  • Finished materials: worksheets, slides, facilitator guide, workbook, card decks, all branded
  • Run it live and export it to Miro
  • Works inside ChatGPT and Claude through the Metodic MCP server, so you keep your chat workflow

ChatGPT: the fast first draft

What a general-purpose chatbot does well, and where it stops

  • Instant outline from any prompt, in any language
  • Strong at reframing a problem statement or brainstorming activity ideas
  • Timing is an estimate, often far too much content for the slot
  • Methods are described from memory; names and steps can be invented
  • Output is text in a chat. Worksheets, slides and guides are your job
  • Each session starts from zero; nothing learns your brand or your library

Frequently asked questions

Can ChatGPT design a workshop?

It can draft one, and the draft is often a useful starting point. What it does not do reliably is fit the content to the time you have, use real facilitation methods with correct steps, or produce the worksheets, slides and facilitator guide you need in the room. That is the part Metodic is built for.

Why not just ask ChatGPT for the worksheets too?

You can, and you will get text. Turning that into a formatted, branded, printable worksheet, then a slide deck, then a facilitator guide, is hours of work per session. Metodic generates them as finished documents from the same brief, with your logo and colours.

Does Metodic replace ChatGPT in my workflow?

No. Metodic runs as an MCP server inside ChatGPT and Claude, so you can keep drafting and refining in chat and hand the session to Metodic when it needs to become real: timed agenda, materials, live run.

Is Metodic's AI any different from ChatGPT's?

The models are similar; the grounding is not. Metodic's generation is tied to a documented library of methods and learning frameworks and to your own sessions and brand, so the output is constrained to things that exist and fit, rather than whatever the model recalls.

What does the free version give me?

A free agenda generator with no account at all, and a free-forever plan with 15 credits at signup and 5 every month, enough for about one fully equipped session per month.
