Metodic vs Miro

Many facilitators run their online workshops in Miro, and Metodic is built to work with it rather than replace it. Miro is the canvas: templates, AI that drafts boards and slides, and Engage for polls and quizzes from phones. Metodic is the workshop designer behind it: it writes the session, generates the materials, builds the Miro board for you and runs the room. Metodic is the only workshop tool that turns one brief into the timed agenda, the full materials kit, a live session on participants' phones with a room screen and presenter view, and a Miro or Mural board, in one product.

Metodic: the session, then the board

  • One brief becomes a timed agenda, every activity written out with steps, minutes and tips, drawn from 750+ curated methods and shaped by 200+ learning frameworks
  • Worksheets, wall canvases, handouts, slides with speaker notes, facilitator guide, participant workbook, card decks (also printed) and documents such as a client brief, all in your brand
  • Run it in the room with METODIC.live: participants join on their phones with a code, no account. Polls, word clouds, quizzes with a race and podium, Q&A with upvotes, pulse checks, 1-2-4-All, dot voting and a wall of photographed post-its, on a room screen you drive from the presenter view (notes, timers, your phone as remote)
  • Your Miro board, built for you: the agenda, a frame per activity with a worked example, the worksheets and a frame per team, ready to run (Professional and up). Mural too
  • Free forever: 15 credits at signup, 5 every month. Paid plans from €10/month; Live free up to 30 participants, or €9 for a one-off room

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to choose between Metodic and Miro?

No. Most Metodic users who work online also use Miro. Metodic designs the session and its materials, then exports the whole session as a Miro board (or a Mural one): the agenda, a frame per activity with a worked example, the worksheets and a frame per team. You run it in Miro as usual.

Miro has AI and Engage now. What does Metodic add?

Grounding and the rest of the kit. Metodic designs from 750+ curated facilitation methods and 204 learning frameworks, writes every activity in full, and generates the printable materials a session needs: worksheets, canvases, facilitator guide, participant workbook and card decks. For the room it adds a room screen and presenter view, quizzes with a race and podium, Q&A with upvotes, methods such as 1-2-4-All on phones and a post-it wall from photos.

Which one should I use for an in-person workshop?

Metodic is built for the room as much as for the screen: printed worksheets and cards on the tables, the room screen on the projector, participants on their phones, and the slides with your notes in the presenter view. Miro is strongest when everyone works on the same digital board.

How current is this comparison?

The Miro column comes from miro.com, its pricing page, its blog and help centre as read on 8 November 2026. Miro's packaging of Engage and its AI features differs per plan; check miro.com/pricing for yours. If something has changed, write to mail@metodic.io and we will correct it.
