How to run Rose, Bud, Thorn, step by step
- 1. Introduce the Rose, Bud, Thorn framework and explain each section: Rose (positive aspects), Bud (potential opportunities), Thorn (challenges and risks).
- 2. Brainstorm the positive aspects of the organization or project and write each in the Rose section.
- 3. Brainstorm the potential opportunities for improvement and write each in the Bud section.
- 4. Brainstorm the challenges and risks and write each in the Thorn section.
- 5. Discuss the relationships between the different sections.
- 6. Analyze the current state based on the Rose, Bud, Thorn analysis.
- 7. Identify strategic actions to leverage the Roses, capitalize on the Buds, and mitigate the Thorns.
- 8. Document the analysis and action plans.
